I need to make a IMX file for Avid from my XD Cam EX 1 footage but how to do ?

Hi Everybody.

I’m new here and hope to help others too.

I’m a Nature filmaker for 25 years and now working with FCP for many years.

I need to help the Turkish TV with a clip they want from me ,my footage is in XD Cam 1080 30 P format

They want the IMX format from me,but I tried everything I can’t do it ,they don’t work with MOV files and that’s where is become a grey area for me.

The have Avid and need the following.

SD file Format : MXF – IMX 30
Video Format : MPEG 2 ( 4:2:2 )
Data Rate : 30 Mbit/s
Resolution : 720×576 @ 25fps
Audio configuration:
CH 1/2 : Stereo L/R (Full Mix) CH 3/4 : Stereo M&E

HD file Format : MXF 50
Video Format : MPEG 2 ( 4:2:2 )
Data Rate : 50 Mbit/s
Resolution : 1920×1080 @ 50i
Audio configuration:
CH 1/2 : Stereo L/R (Full Mix) CH 3/4 : Stereo M&E

I hope somebody can help.

Is there a plug inn for compressor wich may do this ?

Any tips much appreciated .

You need to make two sequences using the Easy setups. One needs to be IMX-30 and the other XDCAM HD-422. Then use the “Export to XDCAM” option and select MXF (no MP4).
However you will have to split the audio channels because they can’t be stereo.

Hi Toni,
You need the SONY Transfer tool installed in your Mac. Then in FCs menus File > Export, down the window you have “Export to XDCAM” option.

Thanks for the screen shot,so i downloaded the XDCAM EX
Log and Transfer With Final Cut Pro PDZK-LT1 and installed it but ,still no show like in your screen shot,is very strange ,i restarted and then install again,no succes .

On the I Mac even worse ,I run Lion and FCP 7.03 and it won’t even install at all.

So is becoming a bit tricky from here I guess ?

Any idea’s 🙂

Is possible that you also need to install the SONY Clip Browser.
