I need a stiff belt
In Motion 3, I’m using a canned animation in the content folder called “belt drive”. it looks like two gears connected by a toothed belt made of replicated squares. What I want to do is have the belt run as normal for two seconds, then slow to a stop. I tried throwing the clamp, stop and drag behaviors at it, but it keeps running like a Maytag washer. What did I screw up THIS time?

Turn off the Rate Offset behavior on the belt and the Spin behaviors on the gears and use keyframes instead – on the Offset parameter for the belt, and on the Rotation parameter of each gear. You’ll have to manual set them so they match (In Motion 4 you could link them all together and control them all with one parameter).
