I Need a (Mac Based) Database for Cataloguing LTO Tapes
I have archived extensively to LTO tape, numbering in the hundreds. While the LTO device has a catalog on board, I want an offline database to search through my LTO Library (by file title)
I have tried using XCEL but after a couple hundred pages it crashes during a search.
Does anybody have anything that has worked for them? Many thanks for reading. – sk

I’ve had a lot of folks recommend the lightweight mac solution NeoFinder (https://www.cdfinder.de) – it has been around forever (even pre-OSX) and the author has kept it updated.

I use Bru-PE to backup to LTO and I have a similar problem with over 400 tapes spread over different clients, browsing the offline database takes a while. I bought NeoFinder and it opens Bru-PE catalogs but ran into an issue with the tape name not getting seen. I wrote the NeoFinder team and they said they would work on it. But I haven’t checked back in a while.
