I just want to say something ( Quicktime import failure )
Quicktime is a gigantic brand
After Effects is an iconic brand
Importing a file is the most basic thing ever.How come, when I import a quicktime file into AE it freezes?
I will be spending the next hour and a half reading up on “solution” articles regarding this with tons of possibilities. It’s not 1974 it’s 2011. Quicktime file should just import, i got a $4K machine here. Rant is over thank you for reading. -

There are about a million different kinds of QuickTime files. QuickTime is a container format. The mess that’s inside of a QuickTime MOV isn’t necessarily standardized nor policed by anyone but the person that put that mess there.
That’s before even taking into consideration the potential for corrupted files.
If you want help you could tell us what kind of QuickTime file you’re trying to import, as well as any other information that may be useful like OS, QuickTime version, processes that hang when you try to import (check your Task Manager or Activity Monitor).
It may be 2011, but we’re a long way from 3011, there’s still work to be done 🙂
