When editing films in 720p @ 60fps its very very laggy, and it’s become extremely hard to edit. Is it my system? i have an 8600Gt graphics card.. I think its good enough, it plays video in full 1080p. I also have a 6400+ dual core processor.. what should i do?

Wow, I get a little lag sometimes with my HD footage but my 720 SD footage renders and plays lighting fast. You’re graphics card is pobablly fine but how much ram are you running? That would more likely be the culprit. Also what are the formats of the clips you’re running? Avi, Mov, Mpeg???

Do you mean 60p or 60i. 60p is very demanding in processing since you are processing twice as many frames. The graphics may have to do with it, skipped frame etc.

The hard drive may also not be keeping up with the data rate. We always recommend a RAID setup separate from the OS when stepping up to HD, especially if this is truly 60p.

If it’s 720 progressive 1280×720), there would be no interlace option…

Is this HDV footage? (JVC) P2 Panasonic footage?
