I don’t want to loose quality when exporting – Help!

I hope to understand your question, english is an issue for me!

I import in AE a 1920×1080 .mov file and then I export a 1920×1080 quicktime movie. But in the exported file I see lots of artifacts.

Look at your Output Module from AE and check what quality and codec settings you are using

What kind of compression are you using on the file before AE? And what settings are you using when you render from AE? If you render Lossless from AE then you should see no degradation in the footage, but your file sizes will be very large.

Which reminds me, don’t use the Export command from AE, use Make Movie or Add to Render Queue.

I connect my HD videocamera to the iMAC and I import the tape via Final Cut.
Final Cut put all clips in a folder. (There’s no compression here: clips are same quality then the original tape – HDV1080i)

Then I import in AE the file that I want to work from that folder.
I make movie with best settings and looseless (quicktime movie and compression settings HDV 1080i).

As said before, I see artefacts on the rendered movie.
