I don’t know my footage’s frame rate!

I have some miniDV footage that I didn’t shoot and I don’t know whether it is 29.97 or 24 fps. What will happen to it if I import it at the wrong frame rate? Is there any way to tell ahead of time? -

Just play the tape in your camera, and the data in the viewfinder or LCD should tell you the mode of what it is playing. In fact, if you tried to play a 24p tape in a camera that only supports 29.97, it won’t even play.

PPro will determine the speed for you. If it doesn’t determine the speed correctly and the footage plays too fast/slow you can use Interpret Footage to change PPro’s determination.
