No, but it could be the type of video that you are editing that’s causing the problem. What is the format of your source media? Where did it come from? What codec does it use?

Also what is your Dynamic RAM preview set to? (look in Options | Preferences | Video for Dynamic RAM Preview).

I get this error regularly and ‘get around it’ by using the 64 bit version of Vegas. If you are using a 64 bit operating system, install the 64 bit version of Vegas and it should render.

The 32 bit version of Vegas can co-exist with the 64 bit version. Be aware that some 3rd party plug-ins may not work under x64 Vegas, so you need to check your time line.

I am still pretty new to all of the terms for media. But they are .mov’s from my canon T2i. My preview is set as low as it can be.

I have tried every “fix it” method that I could find online as well.

Does HD Platinum 10 have that option? I was told to look for updates, but I feel like all I did was re download the program, and that it didn’t actually update anything.

If by “that option” you are referring to a 64-bit version the answer is no. Vegas Movie Studio HD is 32-bit only.

There are no updates for Movie Studio HD 10 yet but when there are, you do download the whole program again and it re-installs itself.

Well… there’s your problem right there. The Canon T2i files are a non-standard format that is extremely difficult to edit. From your other post I gather you are using Movie Studio HD and that doesn’t handle movie files from still image cameras very well.

You’re going to have to convert those files to something that Movie Studio can edit. I would recommend looking at CineForm NeoScene ($99 USD) which can convert the Canon files into a more editable format. Download the trial and see for yourself.

Can you please explain what, “re-saved the video files” means? What exactly did you do to “re-save” them? Did you try CineForm as I suggested?

I re-saved them as .wmv files using vegas. 1080 30fps and 720 60fps.

I didn’t try the site you suggested, but only because I wanted to try a solution that wouldn’t cost me a hundred dollars, only to have it still not work.
