[Chris Duke] “I re-saved them as .wmv files using vegas. 1080 30fps and 720 60fps.”

Unfortunately, that was not the best choice of formats. WMV uses a highly compressed interframe codec just like the Canon files you’re trying to get away from. The reason I recommended CineForm is because it uses a interframe codec that is designed for smooth editing and comes with a tool that is specifically designed to convert Canon 5D/7D/T2i files. It’s the right tool for the job.

Downloaded the trial version, no idea how to use it. All it did was down load forms for me to read and no actual program.

There should have been a program that you install and run. When you run it, you can open your video files and have it convert them to the CineForm codec for you.
