    aaaah … I am sitting with a deadline of cause..

    I usually edit only mov and sony avchd files, which is no problem
    This is mpeg-2 mov files…

    Sounds like you used the Sony software to convert the media. Did these not come off the camera as MP4/AVC?

    I couldn’t open a MPEG 2 file on the PC until I got main concept totalcode. Mpeg2 is not supported on my version which is pro 7.2.1 for windows.

    Mpeg 2 is supported in general but there are more than 1 flavor of Mpeg 2 wrapping for codecs. That is why it’s not being recognized.
