    Dear folks;

    I can capture DV successfully with no problem but I can’t capture HDV.

    I tried different HDV pre-sets for project settings, I can playback the HDV on the capture window. But when I press capture button on device control, it just says capturing and captures NO audio and video.

    I have Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop and Sony HDR Fx-7 cam as hardware. I use firewire to transfer video.
    Adobe Premiere Pro 2 as software.

    I will appreciate your help.

    Thanks in Advance!

    Perhaps the issue is with version 2.0? I remember reading somewhere that starting with 3.0, Premiere was better able to handle HDV.

    I use 3.0 and have no issues capturing HDV from my Canon XH-A1.

    Be sure to switch your camcorder from DV to HDV while it is unplugged from your computer.

    Eddie,

    I have no problem with the camcorder setting. I have done that after reading one of the forums. But the link seems to be quite helpful.

    I appreciate your help.

    Cheers!

    I installed Adobe premiere pro CS3 and it got even worse. It doesn’t show me the HD presets. Could it be because my Graphics card doesn’t support HD?

    I ran “dxdiag” and found following details for my display card..

    Name: Mobile Intel(R) 945 GM Express Chipset Family

    Chip type: Calistoga Graphics Controller.

    Approx memory:224 MB

    Current display mode: 1280X800 32 bit, 60 Hz.
