    Please I need an advise.
Our team has backup shots with arris s.two OB-1 recorder
but now we buy a HP LTO 5 ultrium 3000 to read cartige back but we couldnt reach our shots back. In mac we try BRU and HP Store but both of them says this is not a usable cartige. Would you be so kind if anyone of you tell us how can we read back to our dpx from this cartiges. (We know this is DPX couse one of our friends can take some data from cartige with fedora linux but couldnt reach him again) thank you indeed.

sounds like the files were not handled to be universally usable, best bet is to contact someone from the original production to access and transfer the media to a different device

It is not an STwo problem ( I am in contact with the former employees)

The issue has to do with the way the LTO was made, sounds as if the tape was created using a proprietary system, the only way to retrieve the data is to know the type of LTO drive and system used to create it.

This was an issue with many of the early LTO systems, not creating the files in the .Tar format that is viewable by tape units on all platforms.

    Where are you located?

Gary we’re located in Turkey and I’m still searching for a solution.
S.Two is seems to be closed..it isnt?
Now I’m trying find a way to read tapes on linux with GNU TAR, but linux is much comlex for me (Actually I’m a VFX guy here 🙁 )
is there any easy way to read this data with Windows or Mac?
One of our team member was resolve this with linux (Fedora i think) and get some DPX from tapes but we could’nt find him anymore :(.

And Gary you will go to heaven if help me find a solution.

    Thank you indeed.
