  • I CAN NOT burn a Premier Pro project to a DVD…Please help!!!

Posted by James W. hawk on June 14, 2005 at 1:08 am

I have tried everything that I can think of and every suggestion that I found on the internet and I can not successfully burn my Premier Pro project onto a DVD.
When I try to go direct from Prem Pro to the DVD via “export to DVD”, the burning process starts as though everything is going good. The top progress bar goes to 12 blocks and the bottom progress bar goes to one block. Then it stops and does not proceed any further. The computer does not lock up or turn off and I get to add another coaster to my collection.
Then I tried to use the Adobe Media Encoder. The encoding process seems to have worked successfully. Then I put the .m2v, .wav and the .m2v.mcses files into a folder and try to burn that folder and its contents onto a DVD. I get a Command Sequence Error 05/2C/00 and yet another coaster.
I can’t think of anything else to try at this point. What am I missing here? This can’t be all that difficult.
    I would appreciate some guidance.
    Thank you,
    Jim Hawk

  • I also am having issues with P.Pro 1.5.1 burnig a simple DVD direct from the timeline. Whether I attempt to burn straight from the componenets of a project, or from an AVI burned from that same project, I get either coasters from the project (will not finish – error), or a truncated DVD(plays only part of the file)when from an AVI. I have been using Encore with no problems, but just recently tried direct from Premiere.

I was getting error messages (out of memory etc.,) burning to DVD from the timeline, and other weird things also. There is an upgrade (patch, what ever)on the Adobe site that you can download (it might help)it cured this problem for me…I can burn eveything great now.

Jim, you apparantly have problems other than Premiere if you cant burn a DVD outside Pro. BTW, burning .m2v and .wav files to a DVD will not make a video DVD. These files must be further “Authored” in Encore or another DVD authoring app. The error you get indicates a lilely problem with your burner.

    Thank you, John.
I went to Adobe and see that they have a trial version of Encore I will give this a shot but it will have to wait for next week because of available time .I will let you know how I fare.

    Thank you, Mike
The burner could be garbage “Micro Advantage model 4DVDRW-B13” I was not familiar with the company but the price was right…or was it? The burner will make data file backups without any problems on DVD. I went to the web site to look for a newer driver but couldn’t find my model number. I emailed tech support and they didn’t recognise the model…does that sound like trouble? Here is where I am going . Can you recommend a good burner that is reasonably priced and what kind of media do you like?

Couldn’t find the patch on the Adobe Site under P.Pro. Can you direct me to a better location?

I couldn’t find it from the Adobe site either..turns out, that it’s on the Main Concept site, good thing I saved it.

    Hi Steve,
I got your link and went to that site. They reference Prem Pro 1.0 and Prem Pro 1.5 and state that it is important to get the right one. Well I have Premier Pro ver 7. Is Version 7 equal to 1.0 or 1.5 or neither?

  • Thanks for the info. Downloaded the newest upgrade from the Main Concept site and installed it in P. Pro 1.5.1 but burned another coaster with this error message – “Could not complete the last command because: End of file (DVDErr, -16072)”. Will try it tomorrow on one my studio workstations which are also having the same problem. If anyone out there has any other info to help solve this problem I would greatly appreciate it.
