I am stupid. 10GbE copper uses Cat 5e
So I just realized that the process to get us to 10Gbe is a lot less complicated than I thought.
Am I right on this? If we already have fast storage feeding 1GbE using a Small-Tree switch, we can theoretically replace that with this netgear switch:

https://www.small-tree.com/ThunderNET_TN1_2P_p/tn1-2p.htmThat seems too easy. Obviously the speed of our server will be the deciding factor if this works, but we’re getting about 1800Mb/s from it, so I think we should be good there for 3 or 4 suites tops.
