I am now mastering all PrP exports to OP1a AVC-I 100

One thing I noticed about QT for WIndows is it’s a dog – no offense to dogs – compared to the Mac version meaning there are many files it won’t play without skipping. Basically no or little ram caching and when you start playing with some of the other options you find much better performance in Windows. I still wish Adobe would develop or buy a cross platform codec though I think that’s a big whole for them since all of the other players do have their own and it is important to have a god mastering codec.

1) Is this an MXF ouput?

2) So as a master Full res file…does that also mean AME encodes (say to a flavor of H264) based on that as a source should be faster as well?

3) Is this supported as a Pr “Smart Render” codec for working in the timeline?

Yes it is. It is the AVC-Intra 100 codec wrapped in an MXF file

I have no info on that possibility. BUT I have also switched from doing QT H.264 to MP4 H.264 files. And like OP1a, it is 2X as fast as the QT H.264 exports since qt32sever is not a bottleneck in the process.

I have no information on that. But most of my timelines have effects and motion graphics and I believe Smart Render only works with plain clips.
