I need to showcase HD material in a display. I am looking for an inexpensive DVR, less than $2k, that I can input HD material, analog or HDSDI, and then playback HD to a plasma.

There must be a way with all of the HD Tivo’s out today to do this or possibly record and playback with a computer.

    Any ideas?

Glad I came across this post!!

We have about TEN of the MediaSonics 9100p

    https://www.electrosonic.com/hd_player.shtm

THESE are the units that are used professionally for this type of stuff. They are used in theme parks, museums, rides, etc…

We created some animation and graphics for the US pavillion at the World’s Fair in Aichi, Japan last year and these units were used for only about 6 months. They are 5k each new. They were offered to us and we are using a couple in house for some theme park stuff we are doing… but we definitely don’t need ’em all!

Here’s the show they were used in

let me know if you are interested,
