I’m putting together a corporate video for HYUNDAI and the guy I’m liaising with has emailed me the name HYUNDAI as a jpeg attachment.

I need to convert this into a vector shape so I can import it in After Effects and animated the HYUNDAI text

Can anyone shine a light on how I’d go about making the HYUNDAI text into a vector shape?

I’ve already tried Live trace but what happened was it was rounding the corners and made it look bubbly if that makes scenes!

If you would like a copy of the attachment, please let me know and I’ll post a link where the file can be downloaded.

Step 1 Ask Client for Real Logo.
    Step 2 Wait
Step 3 Visit brandsoftheworld.com and search
Step 4 Compare what client gives you to what you find at BOTW

NEVER NEVER NEVER just trace a crappy JPEG…. A company as big as Hyundai has a real logo.

Richard is so right (still, again). BTOW can be a real lifesaver. If they don’t have one, I never hesitate to call the client and ask for an eps file. Rarely do they refuse my request, though sometimes I have to explain exactly what I’m using it for.
