  I have been wondering, does the HyperDeck Studio really function like a real VTR such as a Digital Betacam deck?

  Can I hook up the RS422 to another Digital Betacam deck and use it as playback and recorder with Assemble/Insert function like a real broadcast VTR with frame accuracy and preroll? OK, maybe too much to ask.

  But does it function as a player with frame accuracy control via a Digital Betacam deck’s RS422? So that I can use it as a player to make frame accurate dubs to broadcast tape? Then I don’t need to tie down my MacPro just to dump a few copies of tape for client.
