Close….but not quite. In Hypa’s QT, the particle actually make up the object. Somehow you can contrl the beginning and end pose of the particles as well at a custom image map. Particular lets you specify a custome map but I don’t see where you can set the end pose of the particle.

For instance. I would like to have the particles in the shape of cow. Then have the apparently randow placed particles (cows) come together to create the CreativeCow.net logo.

If I can achieve this effect in Particular, please take a minute to show me,

    Thanks!!

That add was done quite a long time ago before Particular existed. They said they did most of it all in C4D. Using AE just to composite the layers.

Thanks Chris! I wish I could figure out how this was done. Maybe I’ll put it on my Christmas list 🙂

I would agree. Almost any 3D app with a decent particle system could do this quite easily,…..whereas with Particular there would be alot of smoke and mirrors involved…..

It’s not hard at all in C4D. One of the Xpresso nodes (name escapes me this second. Mayb e the Pblurp). Does this for you. Turns any geometry into particles with a density of your choice and then you can add dynamics to those particles (like a vortex) or morpg them into another object.

Also you can easily assign a particle to the position of any vertex in an object if you want your particles to start in a grid like structure in the shape of something you modeled.

p.s. Hypa uses C4D heavily. On their web page there is a section that is ‘personal’ or experimentation if I remember correctly and it’s a bunch of C4D tests with particles and caustics and what not. It will give you a better idea of how they are using C4D.

….actually here you go. found the link:

Ohhhh thank you SSOO much! This is what I was looking for!!!! Here is an example of EXACTLY what I described: https://www.hypa.tv/tims/theend.html

So I’ve just downloaded the demo of Cinemda 4D r9.5, I’ve got some studying to do but it looks like I’ll have another application to add to my arsenal soon.

    Thanks Again!

Great news. To be the best mograph artist must one know 3D apps and C4D is the best for mograph IMHO.
