hvx200 missing clips
hi all,
i just bought hvx200e and i can not playback some of my files(most slowmotion i think)
they seem to be there but i cannot play them…ill go crazy…
is there any known bug that i can solve,please annyone?

im running an older version of FCP 4.5 on my powerbook 1.67…using it for field editing,
but it does not work either, i cant import anything from p2…hm i figure, ill install newer version or fcp studio 2…
but bad files are still problem…
please helpyours

FCP 4.5 is not compatible with the HVX-200 and the P2 format. The first version that was compatible was 5.0.4. You’ll need to upgrade to FCP 6. It works fine, I have it running on my laptop…which is the exact same model as yours.

my problem is still here…ive just spent my weekend shooting test footage on the beautifull river in Croatia called Mreznica,i love water in slo-mo dont you?(yes and we had an barbeque and slept in the tend-moisture was everywhere,but i had good cases,haha)…i used circular(next time ill use linear) polarizator filter and hq wide lens extender,which beautifully fits to the hvx 200( if you use any filter atached),it looks very good, polarizer nicely removes the highlights and camera can breath more easily showing its full potentials…im very pleased …but i was saying,the issue about missing files is still here. Ive shot many 1080i and p files but last files were in slowmotion and ZZZENG, i can not open or preview most of my recently shooted files…the last 3 files were in slo-mo, i could play only those(thrue the camera i mean).ive copied it before(i took my powerbook with me,hehe) but stil i can not figure whats happening…il do some more tests and maybe ill figure it out…has annyone done the firmware upgrade on the hvx200 ? my version is 2.03 or so,new is 4 by something roght? maybe thats the problem?yours

Look at the clip numbers; if they’re red, that means that you can’t play them in the current camera settings. Look to the lower left of the LCD display; it’ll tell you what format each clip was shot in. You then have to go back into camera mode to change the camera’s recording format to match the clips you’re trying to play back.
It’s a frequently-asked question, I think I address it as FAQ #2 in The HVX Book.
