I got my 16gb card today and am trying to update the firmware and am having problems.

It looks like the only way is to download the update on a PC, transfer the file to an SD card (if you have a card slot) and load the SD card to the camera.

I don’t have immediate access to a pc with SD card slot and was wondering if anyone has used the USB2 port to transfer the data.

    Thanks for your help.

The only way to update the firmware is through the SD card. You can download and copy the file using either a Mac or a PC, but you have to have an SD card reader attached to your computer so that you can copy the file onto the SD card.
