Has anyone ever run into a problem copying media onto an Avid media drive where there are multiple files with duplicate names? If so how did you fix the problem? Right now I have a lot of clips that show up with the video offline because I don’t know the proper way to get files into Avid.

I would use the P2 viewer to consolidate my files, but I have already posted about my issues with the viewer not letting me view virtual P2 cards. I don’t have the CD that came with the HVX200 either because it belonged to a freelance videographer. I am very, very lost.

How are you getting the files into avid? Are you doing a windows copy to the media folder or are you consolidating from the media tool inside avid?

I am doing a windows copy. I would do a media tool consolidate, but the files were copied onto an external hard drive from the P2 cards and even though the file structure is the same, I can’t see how to mount them in AVID unless I assign a different drive letter to each folder on the external drive.
