    My Vegas 9 can’t read the raw format from the Panasonic HVX camera (HD), but I have a friend with FCP and Cleaner who can convert them for me for editing. Realizing h.264 is really not the right animal for this, I’m trying to figure out what he should convert them to.

    Destination is DVD with some possible web stuff later. Any tips?

    As long as you have a fairly current version of QuickTime on your computer, have him try ProRes.

    I thought that was a FCP-only codec. I’ll have to look into it.
