I just shot some footage recently on p2 cards using the panasonic HVX HD camera. I shot the footage in letterbox mode and when I pulled the MXF files into AVID they all look stretched out and don’t contain the 16:9 black matte.

I set the project at 720p/23.97. Why is the image stretching out and how can I fix this.

I also shot the footage at 720p/24pn if that helps any.

    Thanks,

    -P

HD formats are always 16:9 which is why the project defaults to 16:9. If you want 4:3, then right click the source/record monitor and deselect 16:9.
