  • HVX 1080 24pa mode onto tape or p2 card only?

    Hows it going.

I was curious, does the hvx200 record using the 108024pa mode onto tape or onto p2 cards. I would like to record 1080 24pa and don’t know if I even need the p2 cards or if the tapes would be suitable.

1080 24pa really records 1080i and I will be doing the advanced pulldown in fcp.

But can I do this, or is it essential to obtain the p2 cards for this 1080 24pa recording method. Thanks.

What does the tape actually support, only 720i? 1080i? Or also 1080pa? I know it does not support 720p.

    Thanks.

The tape drive of the HVX-200 supports mini-DV only (Standard Def) In order to get ANY HD out of the camera you need either a P2 card or a Firestore FS-100.
