PCNation.com has the 24″ HD-SDI model for $3300, and the 20″ HD-SDI model for under $2,500.
I have two 20″ ones and I’m really happy with them. Will probably get a couple of the 24″ ones when the 1080p HD work picks up more.

Well it has arrived and been plugged in.
I was pitting through 1018 25p from EX1 footage – it looks superb – the ebst I have seen but I do not have anything else alongside it.

Your experience mirrors mine. The TV Logic is hard to source in the UK and too expensive for me. The Panny has a nice picture, but is only 720p. Properly set up the JVC gives as good a picture, and I have had them side by side.

I can’t comment on what Walter’s VAR said, it’s a shame Walter didn’t see it himself – Everyone I know who uses it loves it. For me it clearly represents the best quality/value for money at the moment.

This is what I found. I brought in the Panny for a color correction session and found it to veer toward the green. I demoed the JVC and was blown away. No comparison, much better than the Panny 26″ IMHO.

Just to chime in really quickly. I have the HD-SDI version of this monitor and it’s the best monitor I’ve seen personally. The off axis viewing is a little weak and the glossy screen might bug you if you have lights behind you that can reflect.

If you do a web search on Terence Curren and this monitor you can find his review. He runs a post house and sees much higher end monitors regularly. He gave this one a very high rating.

Personally, I hated spending the money but everytime I look at footage on it (from my new RED especially) I get over it. I think you could do great with a non HD-SDI version if you don’t need it. It’s not a $25k monitor, but I think it’ll put your mind at ease when color correcting.

The best advice is buy where there’s a return policy… but odds are you’ll be blown away by the quality.
