    Hi,

I captured an hour of DV tape, and break down the rushes using in/out and duplicate clip function.

Audio is only on one channel. So I select the duplicated clip, choose audio, breakout to mono clips, and Treat as stereo in order to get the audio on both channels. Is this the correct way to get both channels?

But when I break it out, it does it for the WHOLE 1 hour capture, not just the small clip I choose. I think this creates a huge 1.4 gig conformed audio file (CFA) which is taking up too much space.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Don

Conformed audio files are large, if 1.4gig is too large, you may need to upgrade your system drives a bit.
