Im new to HD and just got my HPX300 – I know this is a beginners question but – How do i achieve the near focus look and background out of focus, vice versa. Can i do this with the stock lens or do i need I need an adapter?

    Thanks for the help.

Shoot wide open and use a long focal length, space permitting. Or use a 35mm DOF adapter, something like a Letus adapter and 1/2″ relay lens with 35mm SLR or motion picture primes, the faster the better.

It depends, you can shoot from far away the subject, zoom in to close up shot and it will do the trick, but if you have limited space then it will be a problem, then you need a DOF adapter but thats a pain, buy Nikon 7d or something that will give you best DOF with too little money,
