Activity Forums Adobe After Effects How would you make the lion in the last 5s of this video

I’d buy a 3D model of a lion, facet it, turn it gold, and animate the camera move. Then add optical flares for the eyes and some sort of echo effect for the teeth.

You could actually animate this using Video Copilot’s Element 3d plugin. Again, purchasing your lion model, but you could use the particle aspect of it to make the repeating teeth part. As long as your model was separated with the top part of the head from the jaw so they could be animated differently, you would be good.

Remember, you do have Cinema 4D with After Effects CC and creating a basic animal shape like this is totally doable yourself too. 🙂

Do you have any advice on creating the material for that model, I’m not sure if it translucent or reflective? Thanks

It’s hard to tell from that video. Definitely reflective, possibly translucent with refraction.
