  • How to use TP in Content Browser?

Posted by Tom on December 2, 2009 at 4:09 am

There are a nice bunch of TP presets in my Content Browser but I have no clue how to use them.

As a practical example, how could I use the vortex TP to make a tornado of sand traveling across my screen?

    Much thanks,

    TH

Here is how to get started:
    1. Inside the content browser Double click the Vortex preset.
    2. Vortex is just an effector so you need to also double click an emitter such as TP standard…
*Now you have two nulls in the object manager
3.From the drop down menu’s OBJECT:THINKING PARTICLES: Particle Geometry
    4.Draw a Spline
5.Create a primitive object and scale it down to your liking.
    6. Make it invisible via the little dots in the object manager (make them both red) but do not X the checkmark.
    7. Select the Emitter Null so its properties open in the Attributes manager
8.Drag your Particle Geometry into the “Particle Group”
    9. Drag your primitive into the particle Shape
*Press play on the timeline and you should have a basic emitter working
10.Select the TP Vortex null so it opens in the attributes manager
11.Drag “particle geometry” into the “Particle Group” link
    12.Drag your spline into “spline”
*Press Play on the timeline again, and start adjusting settings, your spline and shapes….
There is a good tutorial on using presets on the C4Dcafe

    Perfect, thanks Randy.

With your generous instructions and the C4DCafe reference,
I am well on my way.
