How to update version of FCPX? LOrd!
WHere is a link to update the Final cut pro x?
Do you have to buy it?
I thought free. I have been all over the Mac website and cant see crap!
what are your thoughts?

App Store. Click on “Updates”.

Ain’t no love for us 10.0.1 trial users.
Sooooooo….. I thought the reason for it being a .0.1 update was that they were taking on the OS update conventions, etc. and that .0.1 was a pretty hearty update and should be considered a .1 type update. I guess that theory is out the window as such the latest update is far from a “.2” and should be considered more of a 10.0.1.1 no?
Anyway, not complaining. Just wish I could get the update on my trial.

Sorry, I guess I didn’t realize it was a trial install.
As far as the updates, I don’t care what they name them. That was a decent turnaround since the next update was announced for next year.

Mine or yours? Of course yours was a valid point. They always are.
Now that I’m digging in more to X I’m starting to see where they’re going and I like it. But next years update will be the revealing one. I think I like just about everything about the logging. But I’d like to see them address 4 or 5 major issues that need not be rehashed here.
The bigger issue may be where Apple is going with their hardware. I am using a Mac Pro 1,1 and have needed to update for awhile. Thunderbolt has kept me waiting. Like many others, my buying decisions for NLE and Hardware are going to be driven by FCP X updates, AND Mac Pro updates.

Yeah, it’s a bit weird out there. A current MacPro 12 core is still a great machine.

But I don’t want to drop 5 grand on a machine that’s going to get an update to better processors and thunderbolt in January. Or spend 5 grand and find out they come out with a sort of mini tower that has the xeons, but does everything via thunderbolt. A MacMini PRO of sorts. Which would be pretty cool I guess. Especially if it’s more like $1500 instead of 3k-5k!

As the old adage goes, buy for what you need now. if you don’t need it now, then don’t buy it.
A 12core machine will still last a good long while. There’s some bandwidth problems on desktop machines and Thunderbolt. i have no idea what’s going to happen.

Mine was a full install
I have the entire Adobe Package, CS5, everything
But I can dint the effing updates to FCPX
WHy?
