How to tweak CRT preview monitor to correct levels

I’ve got a 13″ Sony PVM-14L1 that has been discontinued but several of my peers have the 15″ JVC THH-150U and they love it.

A very minor correction to John’s post.
The model # for the JVC is TMH-150CGU.
I’ve had 4 of them in student edit suites for a number of years, remain very happy with them and have recommended them numerous times.
B&H has it for $520.00 and Adorama’s price is $470.00
