  • How to turn on Multi Processing in AE ?

Posted by Ben Matt on December 2, 2008 at 7:05 pm

I am running XP 32bit Professional. I have an Duo Core 2 3.2ghz with 4 Gig Ram. What is the best settings inside AE to optimize my system for better rendering time etc. etc.

Is there cache settings I have to change and if so, to what ?
Do I have to enable a setting somewhere for Multi Processing ?

    Thank you so much !!

I set my cache setting to 60% and enabled MP and now my activity monitor for the processors is maxed on all 4 processors. It took a while for it to kick in but it’s screaming now.

Forgive my dumb-assery, but how do I check my processor activity on a Mac?

use the activity monitor (applications/utilities). if you have multiprocessing enabled, you’ll see several processes named ‘aeselflink’ pop up and start consuming cpu processes during rendering (and previewing if you have opengl disabled).
