I’ve used some of the tutorials to make a wall of photos and add the shine effect to it. Can anyone suggest a method to tun my flat wall of photos into a spinning globe?

PreComp the entire thing and then add CC Sphere to that PreComp. The Shine rays might not look right, though, after you sphereize the PreComp, so you might want to add it afterwards (maybe PreComp the Precomp before adding shine.)

You will probably also have to work on the seam where the edges of the wall come together on the globe, but still, this is probably the easiest way to go.

    Good luck!

If your wall of pictures can be made of multiple layers, the 3D Assistants Matrix Creator and Sphereoid Creator plug ins can transform a flat plane of pictures into a sphere of pictures. Use keyframes on the flat wall, then apply the assistant. Digital Anarchy makes the 3D assistants plug-ins.

Not exactly a globe, but you could transition to a globe of the same size from this effect.
