How to track and freeze picture position inserted in moving video
I am trying to insert a picture into a moving video and to have the picture hold the position where it was originally placed to eventually fall off the screen as the camera pans left. Currently, the inserted picture will pan with the camera movement. the exact effect i am trying to accomplish is the one shown here vimeo.com/1858780 at 27 seconds through 32 seconds…ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

That particular video would include a combination of rotoscoping to freeze the snowboarder than some planar tracking to keep him attached while the camera moves and changes perspective. If you have CS5 you have access to mocha, a great program for this type of work.

I just wanted to say THANKYOU so much for your response! I am relatively new to editing and it is sites like this that give me the encouragement and motiviation to continue trying after, like your quote of Edison says, finding over 700 ways not to do something.
