How to Tell What Version of BCC AVX You’re Running?
Posted by Peter Moretti on November 27, 2009 at 6:34 pmI am having some problems upgrading to BCC 5.0.4. I’ve downloaded the 5.0.4 update but Avid says it will only work if I’m currently running 5.0.3.
How can I reliably tell what version of BCC I currently have installed on my computer?
Thanks much.

November 30, 2009 at 4:57 pmWhat version of “Avid” are you running and what OS are you on.
My hunch is that 5.0.4 should be perfectly fine.

Thank you very much for the response. I’m running MC 3.1.1 on Win XP 32-bit.
My problem is that the 5.0.4 installer is an update (not a full package) that will only run properly if 5.0.3 is already installed. But I don’t know if 5.0.3 is installed or not.
Anyway to find out for certain what version I’m currently running?
Thanks again.

December 14, 2009 at 12:37 amThe update should run fine as long as you have any version of BCC 5.
Have you run the installer? Are you running into an issue?

I downloaded the installer from Avid. It’s rather small (around 56MB) and Avid’s website says 5.0.3 needs to be installed before running it. I tried running it anyway, but nothing happened. Someone suggested that I try choosing the Repair option when installing, but I don’t know if that’s the correct thing to do.
I tried downloading 5.0.4 directly from the Boris FX website, but all the 5.0.4 links are broken (Windows and Mac). All the other BCC AVX updates download fine, so I think there is an issue w/ the Boris website.
Thanks much for your help.
