how to tell clip type/properties BEFORE capture

On our Sony DV decks, if you simply turn on the Display, the audio frequency is part of the display. Simply hit Play on the tape and it will tell you right there was it is.

Thanks Walter – as I work from hotels 80 percent of the time , I normally just bring along a DSR-11..andit has no display.

Would be nice with an app that could tell though….

Sure it does, it feeds a Super display to the monitor. We used to have that same machine here.
