  • How to substitute a new mpeg2 in DVDA and maintain in out DVD chapters

Posted by Larry Watts on April 29, 2005 at 3:22 pm

I finished a very extensive DVD authoring with multiple menu pages and multiple selections on each page.
I also had to make a new mpeg2 file that had a few corrections.

The problem is that I didn’t put markers in the exact place I created the selection set which I used to render the mpeg2
    and ac3 files.

When I brought in the new mpeg2 the chapter markers no longer relate to the correct places.
How can I correct this without redoing EVERY in and out point (which was done in VEgas)?

    HELP!

    Thanks

You’re gonna have to slide each marker to the correct position.
This shouldn’t take you an innordinate amount of time.

This works well, just had to do it myself.

I find it easier to open the Vegas timeline project AND open the DVD architect project….

Then I find the timecode of the marker in the Vegas project, copy it, and then paste it into the timecode of the DVD Arch project. This method seems to save me about 5-7 minutes… and is easier than trying to move my DVD Arch marker through the mpeg 2 project.

Every 5 minutes saved is worth it to me.

Yes,that’s fine if you have your markers set in the Vgeas project, but we were talking about resetting them altogether.

Even if you don’t have your markers set in the Vegas project… it is easier to find the spot on a Vegas timeline, copy the timecode, and paste it into DVD Arch. Trying to move a marker in an mpeg2 file with ac3 audio in a DVD arch project is very time consuming.
