  • How to speed up Vegas when rendering low quality?

Posted by Yan Moura on January 31, 2019 at 9:37 pm

I am using Vegas Pro 13 and I want to render a LOW quality version of my project (as low as possible) only to use as reference in After Effects.

The problem is that even lowering the bit rate and the resolution (192K; 320×180) it still seem to take a long time to render. I may be wrong but it looks like to take the same time as if it would rendering in HD.

There is a way to make it go REALLY fast when rendering crappy versions? Any secret trick?

    Thanks!

Somethings that might help. Disable resample, make sure two pass encoding is not checked. Remove the preview window. Close every other program then go into task manager right click on vegas then go to details, find vegas again i think right click on it and set priority to real time.

    Yan, two issues to consider….

    1. In “preferences” reduce “preview ram.” Since you’re finished editing and you won’t need that ram anyway.

    2. In case you have a C: hard drive/HDD, (not solid state), do a “defrag” to get the most out of your C: drive.

    My 2¢
