  • How to speed up rendering of still images?

I’m preparing some kind of video tutorial in which I use a few still images. Those images stay sometimes a few minutes on screen and nothing is happening with them. Is there any way to render such a project in a fast way as lot of frames stay the same for a long time?
I did some test and actually the rendering of video with just black screen takes the same amount of time as regular video.

best thing you could do is to prepare the images for FCP
if you don’t need to zoom in, then make them the same frame size as your delivery.

you still have to render, but that should make it a bit more streamlined

You could always make a quicktime movie of the still using the sequence codec. 30 seconds would do and then cut it in. No rendering. Need it to go longer, cut it in again. It will match frame if there is no movement on the still.

    ah, yes… ingenious!

you could cut it back to a second or two, and rather then export / import, just nest the rendered section, and copy / paste the nest.

The added bonus is if you send to Color for grading it will be available unlike a still image.
