  How to set up final cut correctly for footage from my Canon T3i DSLR

  I have a Canon T3i. It shoots video in full HD — 1920 x 1080, H.264 codec, in .mov format. I am trying to import this footage to use in final cut, and am struggling setting up the sequence settings to correctly accept the footage.

  I have seen stuff about using programs like compressor or mpeg streamclip, but ideally, someone out there can explain step by step how to set up final cut to optimize… everything.
