How To: Separate settings on separate tracks
I have a rendered animation with alpha that I’ve laid on a track. On that track I want to use the alpha for a composite, and I’ve selected “Premultiplied” for it.
I’ve put the same animation on a separate track just below it, for which I DON’T want to use the alpha– at a certain point I want to fade full RGB color underneath the partially-transparent identical track.
My problem is that if I change “Premultiplied” to “Undefined” (or anything else) on one track, it changes to that for both tracks.
How do I keep one setting on one track and the other setting on the other track?

Simply make a copy of the same animation and rename it, so when
you have them on the track, they are actually two separate events,
where changing the alpha channel in one wont affect the other.Steve Rhoden

Hmm, okay, but that just seems peculiar.
Maybe there’s some advantage to NOT being able to use the same element in a different way on a different track, but it’s not occurring to me what that might be.

Right click on the second event and choose Create Subclip. Now set the desired media properties

Yes, the subclip feature can also be used.
