  • How to select the best sequence for the footage

    Hi everyone,

I would really like to have some advise on how to setup my sequence.
So far i only worked with just DV PAL, but now that i’m working with different files, i just want to be sure i’m not forgetting any settings in the setup.

    I have a bmp-sequence in an avi-container.
    1108×824
    24fps
    62,7 Mb/sec
    pixel aspect: square
    Field dominance: none

For aspect ratio should i pick CCIR 601 PAL Sq. (4:3)?
And what to use in the QuickTime Video Settings bar?
I need to keep the best quality of the image.

    Thanks, Rob

    Hi Rafael,

    thanks for your help.
The final delivery format is that it will be printed on 35 mm.

    Rob,

Are you editing an offline telecine? Or is it video transfer to film? If it is an offline telecine then use the sequence exactly matching your footage so that there are no timecode alterations, once you start messing with those numbers the lab won’t be able to print correctly.

If your doing a video transfer to film, then you can use any sequence you want that will keep end result quality the same or better than the shot material.

    Hope this helps.

Just a very big puzzle mister man.
