  • How to retain the color after Black & white conversion.

I shot a video clip (band members playing all in red shirt). What I want to accomplish is to convert the footage into black and white while retaining the red color of their shirts. How do i do this? Is there any plugin available in after effects to accomplish this? Would rotoscoping resolve this? Thanks in advance.

I also would like to know how to do this. I know it’s just a matter of keying that color out or something but I dont know the first step.

Effect > Color Correction > Leave Color

Click the color sample tool on the red you want to leave, turn ‘Amount to Decolor’ up to 100% and tweak the tolerance and edge softness.

… and set it to “using hue”, not “using RGB”. Works for me, anyway.
