  • How to replicate a particle/sparkle effect (like Trapcode Particular) for free?

I’d really like to add a sparkly, particle fly by underneath some text to highlight a word. However, the only way I can find to accomplish this is to purchase Trapcode Particular or something similar.

An example of this would be like the effect that happens right at the beginning of this video:

Does anyone know a way to create something similar? Is there an effect that comes with AE that I could use instead?

Check out this thread where I posted a project on fairy dust: https://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/202/895017. Just change the particles to stars and adjust the gravity and you should be pretty close.
