  • How to render Canon 5d MarkII video files with Vegas 8.0c

    Hi All,

I know this question has been asked a million times, but for some odd reason I can’t get good quality from Vegas 8.0c Pro when rendering to MainConcept. My video looks degraded, and way over saturated during playback on TV’s and LCD Samsungs. So, I’ve been using Virtual Dub, then render to Cinema Craft Encoder Basic in the past for good results.

But now I want to use true HD video, add lower thirds, and really use this software since I paid the money for it.

I’m trying to create my first HD Dvd 720p. I’ve created a series of video clips about 10-12 min long using the Canon 5D Mark II, DSLR video/camera.

When I add the file in Vegas 8.0c, it tells me the file is interlaced, when I know it’s 30fps,16:9 progressive. Vegas tells me the following…

    Video: 1920x1080x24, 29.970 fps interlaced, H.264
Audio: 48,000 Hz, 16bit, Stereo, 16-bit Little Endian

I also have NeoScene, but not sure if I need it now since I can drop the .MOV file directly in the time line in Vegas.

Quality raw sample from the camera I have at the following

Any ideas what I’m doing wrong?

    Thanks.
