  • How to remove stabilization from a shot?

Posted by Eric Goldstein on September 26, 2009 at 12:38 am

Hi, stabilized a shot in order to more easily add a 3D element. I need to keep the stabilization on the shot in order that the 3D element stays with the shot. But, I ‘d like to preComp these two shots and generate opposing keyframes for the preComp to neutralize the stabilization – giving the PreComped footage and 3D element its original (pre-stabilization)motion.

Any suggestions on how I might do this?

    Thanks,

    Eric

    Hi,

I figured it out. I made the preComp with shot and 3D element. I copyed the layer with stabilized keyframes and put it under the preComp and turned it off. I pickwhipped from the PreComp’s anchorPoint to the stabilzed footage’s anchorPoint in the layer underneath. I put a negative sign in front of the expression. This negated the stabilization, returning the shot with its 3D element to it’s original zero stabilization.

    Thanks,

    Eric
