How to read size wing flap to create lift on butterfly
I am animating a butterfly. I have a wiggle expression to generate a fairly decent and random wing movement, which is mirrored by the opposite wing. Now I am try to create vertical life based upon the amount of flap (larger flaps means greater rise, slower or small flaps will cause slow descent)
any ideas?

Not so trivial:
I would break it down in:
What’s the speed of the downstrokes ( can perhaps be simplified to just rotation.speed)
You then decide on a limit when it should lift
This needs some inertia and gravity,All in all an interesting simulation, but why not just fake it?
Study some ref footage of butterflies: do they flap their wings very unevenly?
