How to pre-compose layers but KEEP their color modes?
Hello, simple question really. I need to pre-comp a bunch of layers that all have different color modes, but when I pre-comp it, I only have the option to change them all to one color mode.
How can I bypass this?

There is a little button in the time line window inbetween the shy layer switch and the quality switch.. it looks like a sun…it’s called collapse transformations
click that on your pre comp.. that should do the trick

It’s really useful..
I think it’s main use.. is for when you have a complicated 3d composition.. you can than bring it in to another comp.. click that button.. and it keeps it 3d form..

It’s also quite useful for Illustrator files in AE. Clicking that button on an Illustrator file causes it to continuously rasterize. Meaning that, when you scale it up, it doesn’t matter how far, it will always look crisp and beautiful, the way vector was intended.
