How to play 4 frames pr. second
I have a case, where the security camera records 4 FPS in a file, where the file “identity” says it’s a 30 FPS file.
When playing in normal framerate it certainly goes fast, and I’ve found a work-around by exporting the movie to an image sequence, and then import this sequence, and let it”s frame be around 4-5 frames (it isn’t “allowed” to maken ANY interpolation, so the images shall be 100% as the original).
The lowest framerate I can set in FCP is 23.98, so is there another (more smooth) way to solve the problem, so I perhaps can play 4 FPS in FCP, since there are more than 100 files, and the format isn’t quicktime, so it has to be converted on a PC ?

Compressor has some incredible features in the latest version, gotta believe it can do this for you, with some tweaking of course.

The problem is, that the original files is in Microsoft MPEG-4, so I’ve use Sorenson Squeeze on a PC, to transcode it in to H264 with the original settings: 30 FPS, 640×480, square pixels, and then I use Compressor to transcode it into an image sequence, so it’s both a playback issue, and a format problem

This is a solution to play 4fps in FCP and for it to not look sped up.
You would have to use a duplicate frame scenario, the best timeline would be 23.98P and each frame would be duplicated 6 times. On playback it would be unaltered. I would have no idea how to automate this process.

It may be useful for you the “Joe’s Frame Rate Adjuster”, From the Joe’s Filters. May work.

Joe have another plugin. In the READ ME says:
